Programos Foundation does every thing possible to preserve innovators in Nigeria just as the NGO has conscripted the globally rated home-grown producers into an innovation development capacity incubation-2030 faculty to re-grow and scout a new generation of innovators!
Records have it that owing to discomforts and provocations of COVID-19 pandemic across the globe the count of creative innovations emerging from restless youths and leaders of tomorrow taking positive ACTIONS on the SDGs in our sub-regions remain unprecedented.

Following some work done by Programos Foundation – builders of the Innovationbed Africa private digital ecosystem, quite a number of African countries have performed remarkably well at global innovation appraisal networks of the United Nations World Summit Awards, WSA.

The WSA is a unique awards system, selecting and promoting local digital innovation to improve society.Combining an ongoing series of international events and activities with a global network of start-ups, social entrepreneurs, mentors, jurors, speakers, experts, government leaders, academia and civil society, WSA is an international platform for cutting edge examples of how ICTs can impact society in a positive way.
With over 17 years of international experience, WSA is a quality seal for digital content with societal impact in over 18 participating countries.
Breakdown of WSA (Nigeria) 2022 Timeline:
Nigeria’s call like of other 187 countries enjoys a nomination period of April 15th to August 31st, 2022.
July 31st, 2022: WSA (Nigeria) National Pre-Selection Jury – On-Premise and Virtual Jury
August 2nd – 4th, 2022: “NCS National Startups Pitch 2020”, Nigeria Computer Society, National Conference 2022, Ogun State, Nigeria.
August 31st: Country Level Deadline – for submission and Pre-selection/nominations to global database.
September 2022: Online Jury
October 2022: Grand Jury Meeting, Indonesia
March 2023: WSA Global Congress and Winners Ceremony to hold in Mexico
Interestingly this year’s programme may shortlist the best e-content startups across the 36 states of the federation plus FCT ahead of the global WSA competition involving 187+ countries to be showcased in the Nigeria Computer Society National Conference 2022 “NCS NATIONAL STARTUPS PITCH 2022” holding via a hybrid event in Ogun State of Nigeria, August 2022.
In collaboration with the Nigeria Computer Society Conferences 2022 Committee, I will lead the coordination for the maiden “NCS National Startups Pitch 2022” process, in my capacity as the United Nations World Summit Awards National Expert for Nigeria.
As nominated by the NCS International Conferences Committee Chairman, Mr. Rex Abitogun, Mr Jide Awe, CEO, Jidaw Systems Limited, will play an advisory role in the Strategy works on this National call.
